About Nikki's Childminding
Hi my name is Nikki Ludwig I have been registered since 2001, last graded by Ofsted in Feb 2020 as Outstanding in all areas. I can offer the free 15hrs/30hrs per week early years education funding for 9mths/2yrs/3 and 4 year olds subject to availability and the future role out.
I work with my husband as my registered assistant and he is a fully qualified chef. Together we offer a great, fun and caring childminding setting with home cooked healthy meals and snacks. We are a small home based childcare setting, therefore we get to know your child well. Our ethos is simple, we 'care' for your child. Yes we are fully registered, trained and inspected, follow the EYFS the same as nurseries, but more importantly I promise to look after and care for your child, listen to them and you, dry tears, cuddle, keep safe, teach, learn and have fun!
Our Qualifications
I am fully qualified with a NVQ level 3 in childcare and education, I have gained many more qualifications, training and certificates over the years from EYFS to Makaton sign language, Special needs training and continue to enhance my professional development yearly. I am fully insured, DBS checked, and safeguarding and pediatric first aid courses are kept up to date. I have over 23 years experience in professional childcare looking after newborns, many babies, toddlers and twins. My assistant is also fully insured, DBS checked and completes the safeguarding and pediatric first aid courses. As a chef my assistant holds City and Guilds 706 1 & 2 (catering) various food and hygiene level 2, allergy training, health and safety. Our kitchen has passed LA food standards checks achieving the highest level 5. All of our certificates can be viewed in our portfolio on the premises.
Our Setting
Our childcare setting is based at our home in St Leonards, TN37 7ES, near Alexander Park. We are easy to find on Sedlescombe Road North with parking available. We currently work from our through lounge/diner with doors opening into our secure back garden. We have various play equipment, ride on toys, swings and slide in our playground and a natural learning and exploring area where we grow our own plants and vegetables.
We are very lucky to live near the woodland end of the park and the Gill and make good use of these natural resources. We use this regularly for walks, puddle splashing, bug hunting and so much more outside learning opportunities. I also attend the local library where the children can choose their own books and we borrow more to enhance our monthly themes. We sometimes can go on outings to the beach, playgrounds and toddler clubs.
About us
I am married to Anton, we both grew up in the Hastings area and then lived in Bromley for 30 years. We have 2 children now grown up, a collie dog called Obi and our little cat Oliver. I used to work in London and had a fantastic childminder myself for my eldest when he was a baby, I know how difficult it is being a working parent and promise you my full support in working together to care for your child.
